Anthony Mangeri, MPA, Professor, American Military University
Anthony S. Mangeri has more than 25 years of experience in crisis management and public safety services at federal, state and local levels. Professor Mangeri has substantial experience in homeland security, disaster response and recovery operations, global health systems and the effective integration of these systems. Mr. Mangeri lectures nationally and is an active practitioner providing technical expertise and consultation services to public and private sector clients with an emphasis on homeland security matters, emergency and disaster response and recovery operations, and governmental affairs.
During the attacks of September 11, 2001, he served as the Operations Chief at the NJ Emergency Operations Center coordinating New Jersey's response to the attacks on the World Trade Center and subsequent anthrax attack. Professor Mangeri transferred to the NJ Department of Health & Senior Services as part of the new Bioterrorism initiative. His responsibilities included coordinating with local and regional health departments on bio-terrorism preparedness, emergency planning, and training. He provided on-call emergency coverage at the State EOC, Health Command Center and/or a forward command post as part of the State's public health preparedness & emergency response efforts.
Professor Mangeri has been a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician for more than 20 years. He earned the rank of Assistant Chief-Safety Officer, serving as the fire department's health and safety officer for three years. He earned a Master of Public Administration fromRutgers's University and is a Certified Public Manager. He is also a Hazardous Materials Technician and has completed Public Health Leadership Initiative for Emergency Response Fellowship sponsored by the Center for Public Health Preparedness at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. |
